Tucked just outside of Kansas City, Powell Gardens is a breathtaking backdrop for couples dreaming of an elegant outdoor wedding. This botanical oasis is known for its lush landscapes, vibrant blooms, and serene water features- and for this wedding day, it felt like stepping into a living fairytale.


A Ceremony surrounded by nature

The ceremony took place in the chapel, where guests were greeted by the scent of fresh flowers and the soft rustle of leaves in the summer breeze. The bride's timeless gown, paired with delicate lace accents, was perfectly complimented by the natural beauty all around. The groom looked effortlessly classic in a tailored black suit, a striking contrast against the greenery.


As the couple exchanged vows, golden sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a romantic glow over the moment. Every detail felt intentional, from the elegant florals to the carefully chosen music that floated gently through the air.


Romantic Portraits in the garden

After the ceremony, we wandered through Powell Gardens for portraits. Each corner of the property offers something unique, wide open meadows, intimate pathways, and vibrant flower beds that change with the seasons. The couple's laughter echoed as we explored, capturing candid moments and quiet glances that told their love story better than words ever could.


An evening to remember

The reception was held at the Barn on the property, styled with neutral linens, gold accents, and candles that flickered as the sun dipped below the horizon. Guest enjoyed delicious Italian food, heartfelt toasts, and a dance floor that stayed full all night.


One of my favorite moments came just before sunset, the couple slipped away to a near by field for a few private minutes. The way the looked at each other, framed by the warm glow of the setting sun, perfectly summed up the day: joyful, romantic, and beautifully timeless.
