Kansas City Wildlife Reserve Engagement Session
You know that feeling when you meet someone and you immediately think "we're going to be friends"? I had that feeling the second I met Emma a few years back when we started working together as respiratory therapists at KU. That feeling became even more apparent when I met Jerry for the first time, Emma had agreed to let me take their family pictures when I was brand spanking new at photography, they were both so kind, so gracious, and incredibly supportive to a girl who barely knew what she was doing. So imagine when a few years later, I receive a message from Emma asking me to do their wedding photography, INSTANT TEARS, of freaking course I would love to! What an absolute honor!
So naturally, we had to plan an engagement session!
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Emma and Jerry's engagement session is it was a golden hour barefoot dream. Truly. It was stunnnnnning. The sun did it's thing while Emma and Jerry did theirs. I love love love when a couple let's all the picture jitters out and is just themselves, totally and completely. It allows every picture to feel so authentic and also serves as a sweet memory. When very early on into the session Emma kicked off her shoes, I thought, "this is going to be goooooood," and boy was I right! Naturals. Every prompt I gave them was a breeze. They laughed, they joked, they danced, and they got some pretty freaking awesome photos!
